Defined Source Cooperative (DSC), Inc. is a field service consulting firm whose headquarters are based in Philadelphia with additional offices in South Carolina and Canada. DSC's charter is to provide the highest quality of field-technical and management professionals (as well as teams) to the power generation industry and other industrial markets worldwide. DSC concentrates its efforts exclusively in the areas of development, engineering, construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance and aftermarket service.
Since inception, DSC has developed one of the most extensive, hand-picked domestic (U.S.) and international networks of the industry's most capable veteran and next-generation talents. This, along with our carefully selected strategic partnerships and affiliations (with other specialized industry organizations), allows DSC to quickly and effectively respond to clients' specific project manpower needs with candidates, project teams and manpower solutions that ideally match specific project criteria.
DSC has supported over 100 projects in over 20 countries worldwide which includes geographic regions such as North America, Europe, the Middle East, Far East, Pacific Rim, Central & South America, and Australia. Specific project technologies that we have experience with include: conventional thermal (coal, oil and gas), gas turbine- simple and combined cycle, circulating fluidized bed (CFB), hydro, diesel engine, environmental retrofits/expansions, petrochemical, process automation, and pulp and paper.
Our services are performed on a contract / "defined term" term and also full-time basis under the direction of the clients we serve. We specialize in devising customized, comprehensive manpower services and solutions to best meet the specific and unique needs of each of our clients. We have the ability to assemble entire project construction, commissioning, operations and maintenance crews; provide home office and on-site project management; conduct due diligence feasibility studies and asset evaluations; develop high-usage or specialty-tailored usage programs; offer pre-hire evaluation/assessment programs; or simply augment our client's field teams with "key" technical manpower to accommodate specific "defined term" project requirements.
In addition to the above-mentioned services, DSC has also successfully established long-term alliance programs with organizations involving the creation of tailored manpower pools available for their exclusive use. These programs have allowed our "client-partners" to utilize proven talent during peak periods of project development while, during slower intervals, significantly minimizing costs that are typically associated with maintaining full time staff.
